Dennis Farina ACTOR

Dennis Farina was born on February 29th, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, born to parents, Yolana and Joseph Farina.  He was raised with six other sibling, three brothers and three sisters.
Prior to pursuing a career as an actor, he spent three years serving in the military before joining the police force for which he served for eighteen years in Chicago.  He became involved in acting when he was actually working with director, Michael Mann as a police consultant on the film, 'Thief".  It was this experience that opened a door for him in entertainment when he was actually cast in the film.
Soon, Farina was working as a stage actor in Chicago and then Mann came back and cast him in the television series, "Crime Stories".  As his career in the industry progressed he became very well known for his role in the films, "Midnight Run" (1988), "Manhunter" (1986) and "Get Shorty" (1995).  Later in his career he also played mobster, Albert Lombard in the television series, "Miami Vice".  He also was cast as a recurring role on, "Law & Order".
Farina has worked on a number of films and television series thus far throughout his career in the industry.  Some of his other credits include roles on such features as, "Saving Private Ryan" (1998) starring Tom Hanks, "Striking Distance" (1993), "Little Big League" (1994), "Out of Sight" (1998) and "That Old Feeling" (1997).
Along with his film work he has also appeared on more television shows such as, "Empire Falls" (2005) and "Bottle Shock" (2008).  Other credits added to his resume were roles in the films, "You Kill Me" (2007), "What Happens in Vegas" (2008) and he was also the host of, "Unsolved Mysteries" (2008).
He has married only one time to Patricia in 1970 and they had three sons before ending the marriage in 1980.  His son Joe Farrina also became a working actor.  Although he has a successful career and a successful family life, he did have one issue with the law such as being arrested in 2008 for carrying a loaded gun through LAX airport security for which he served two years probation for.
Some of his more recent roles have been in the 2011 film, "The Last Rites of Joe Pay" and on the HBO series, "Luck" (2012).  He continues to work in the industry and his career remains successful as a highly desired working actor.
