Deborah Walley ACTOR


Deborah Walley was born on August 12th, 1941 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Her parents, Nathan and Edith Walley were Ice Capades stars as well as the choreographers for the show.  Although her parents wanted her to follow in their footsteps and take up a career in figure skating she had more of an interest in acting.
At the age of fourteen she had her stage debut in a summer stock production of, "Charley's Aunt".  She later went on to study acting at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts. 
Later in her life she re-married and relocated to Arizona to raise her two sons, one from each marriage, and also co-founded two different children's theater companies, Pied Piper Productions and Sedona Children's Theater.  She also wrote a children's book in 1993, "Grandfather's Good Medicine" as well as wrote a number of scripts for her own production companies as well as for some other children films.
Along with an acting career, owning production companies and children's theater groups and being a writer, she also made time to continue to working in the industry and did some voice over work for Disney.  Her latest appearance was in 1999 on the television series, "Baywatch".
Other roles added to her resume were, "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" (1961), "The Mothers-In-Law" (1967), "The Bubble" (1966), "Spinout" (1966) starring Elvis Presley, "The Severed Arm" (1973) and "Legend of 'Seeks-To-Hunt-Great" (1989). She also appeared on such television series as, "Naked City", "Burke's Law", 'Wagon Train" and "The Virginian".
She married three times throughout her life.  Her first husband was John Reynolds and hey were married briefly and had one child together before the marriage ended.  She then married John Ashley in 1962 and also had one child with him before divorcing in 1966.  Her third husband was Chet McCracken whom she wed in 1965 and this marriage too ended in divorce in 1975.
Walley did not remarry again and on May 10th, 2001 she passed away in Sedona, Arizona after suffering from esophageal cancer.
