DAVID STOLLERY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
David Stollery was born on January 18th, 1941 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name David John Stollery III. His mother, Mitzi Lamarr was a radio star and his father David was a radio announcer.
He began his involvement in acting as a child actor. He started out at the age of seven appearing on Broadway in such productions as, "Medea" and was actually voted Child Actor of the Year for another Broadway role, "On Borrowed Time".
Some of his early on film roles were in, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" (1949), "Where Danger Lives" (1950), "Her Twelve Men" (1954). He began to really gain the attention of Hollywood when he was seen on the big screen in such films as, "The Adventures of Spin and Marty" (1955) and as a re-occurring character on Walt Disney's, "The Mickey Mouse Club" (1955).
Along with his film roles he had also appeared on a number of television series such as, "I Love Lucy", "Dragnet", "My Friend Irma" and "The Red Skelton Show". As his career progressed he was seen on such Disney films as, "Ten Who Dared" (1960), "Westward Ho the Wagons!" (1956)
Later on in life, he chose to retire from the industry, pursue an education at Art Center College of Design and became very involved in the automobile industry. He worked in Detroit, Michigan for seven years with General Motors and in 1973, Toyota hired him to manage California's first automotive design group.
He is known for designing the 1978 Toyota Celica and since then he has overseen the design for over 22 models for the Japanese company. He also recently became the president of his own manufacturing company where they design the only fiberglass life-towers in the United States.
Stollery continues to claim in a number of interviews he enjoyed acting but does not miss it and is happy with the decision he made to leave Hollywood for good.
