CRAIG T. NELSON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Craig T. Nelson was born on April 4th, 1944 in Spokane, Washington with the birth name Craig Theordore Nelson, born to parents, Vera Margaret who was a professional dancer and Armand Gilbert Nelson.
As a young boy, Nelson became involved in karate and earned up to a brown belt. After high school he attended the University of Arizona and also Central Washington University.
When he became involved in acting, he tried to register with the Screen Actors Guild, however there was already a Craig Richard Nelson so therefore he used the name Craig Theodore Nelson.
Craig became most well known for his role as Hayden Fox in the television series, "Coach" (1989-1997), followed by other roles on such television series as, "Call to Glory", "The District", "My Name is Earl", "CSI:NY", and is currently working on the series "Parenthood" (2011-2012).
Along with his work on television he also appeared in a number of films such as, "The Return of Count Yorga" (1971), "Poltergeist" (1982), "Call to Glory" (1984), "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989), "Ghosts of Mississippi" (1996), "Wag the Dog" (1997) and some of his more recent roles on such films as, "The Proposal" (2009), "The Company Men" (2010) and "Soul Surfer" (2011). He also did voice over work for the animated film, "The Incredibles" (2004).
He has married twice throughout his lifetime, his first wife was Robin Nelson whom he wed in the 1960's and they had three children together before the marriage ended in 1978. He then married Doria Cook in 1987 and they remain together today.
