COBIE SMULDERS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Cobie Smulders was born on April 3rd, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia with the birth name Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders.  As a young girl she aspired to pursue a career as a doctor or marine biologist.  When she was in high school, she began to develop an interest in acting and participated in a number of school productions.

While still in school, she caught the attention of a modeling scout and soon was traveling all over working as a model.  In 2000 she earned her high school diploma and continued to work as a model until she decided to make a switch and break into the acting arena.
 
By 2002 she was making guest appearances on such television series as, "Special Unit 2" (2002) starring Michael Landes and Alexondra Lee, "Jeremiah" (2002) starring Luke Perry, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Sean Astin among many others and "Tru Calling" (2003).  Her stardom break followed when she was cast in the ABC television series, "Veritas: The Quest" (2003).
 
Now with quite a bit of experience on her resume, she soon began appearing in major films such as, "Ill Fated" (2004) sarring Peter Outerbridge and Paul Campbell, "Walking Tall" (2004) starring Dwayne Johnson, "The Long Weekend" (2005) starring Chelan Simmons, Paul Campbell and Chandra West and "The Slammin' Salmon" (2009) starring with Michael Clarke Duncan, Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, Paul Soter, April Bowlby and Olivia Munn.  

She is well know for her role as Robin Scherbatsky on the television series, "How I Met Your Mother" starring Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, and Alyson Hannigan and on the film, "The Avengers" (2012), portraying Maria Hill and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson, Her most recent roles include roles on the films, "Grassroots" (2012) also starring Jason Biggs, Joel David Moore and Lauren Ambrose, "Safe Haven" (2013) co-starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and David Lyons, "Iron Man 3" (2013) starring alongside Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall and releasing in 2014, "They Came Together".
 
Cobie Smulders is set to marry for her first time to Taran Killam in September 2012, and they have one daughter together, who was born in 2009.
