BRUCE BOXLEITNER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Bruce Boxleitner was born on May 12th, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois with the birth name Bruce William Boxleitner. After graduating from Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, Illinois he went on to study at the Goodman Theater School of Drama of the Art Institute of Chicago.
When he began to pursue his career in acting he soon became most well known for his role on a number of television series such as, "How the West Was Won", "Bring Em' Back Alive", "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" and "Babylon 5".
Other television roles he has added to his resume over the course of his career have been appearances on, "The Gambler", "Young Blades", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "Gunsmoke", "Tales from the Crypt", "Touched By an Angel", "She Spies", "Heroes", "NCIS", "Chuck" and "Hawaii Five-O".
with working as a television actor he also appeared on such television movies as, "Babylon 5: The Beginning" (1998), "Babylon 5: Thirdspace" (1998), 'Babylon 5: A Call to Arms" (1999), "The Secret" (1992), "Hope Ranch" (2002), "Falling in Love with the Girl Next Door" (2006), "Pandemic" (2007), "The Bone Eater" (2007), "Sharpshooter" (2007) and "Aces 'n Eights" (2008).
He is also very well known for his role in the film, "Tron 2.0" (2003), "Tron: Legacy" (2010) and the video game "Tron Evolution" (2010). He has also done voice over work for the animated science fiction film, "Dead Space: Downfall" (2008) and also of his character, Tron in, "Tron: Uprising" which is scheduled to release on Disney in 2012.
Along with his career as an actor, he has also worked as a model for such products as, Estee Lauder's, "Lauder For Men" and has published two books, "Frontier Earth" (1999) and "Searcher" (2001).
Throughout his lifetime he has married twice, first to Kathryn Holcomb in 1977 and after having two children this marriage came to an end in 1987. He then married actress Melissa Gilbert in 1995 and they have one child. On March 1st, 2011 the couple announced that they had separated.
He remains very involved with the National Space Society which is a non profit educational organization. In 2012 the film, "Guardians of Luna" will release with him doing voice over work and in 2013 the film, "Tron 3" will also be released to theaters.
