Brooke Shields ACTOR


Brooke Shields was born on May 31st, 1965 in New York City, New York with the birth name Brooke Christa Shields.  Her parents were frank and Teri Shields.  Just a couple months after she was born her parents marriage ended in divorce.  
Her career first began as a model at only eleven months old.  She worked for such products as Ivory soap and by the age of twelve she was already working as an actress starring in the film, "Pretty Baby" (1978) followed by another film role in, "The Blue Lagoon" (1980).  At fourteen years old she was gracing the cover of Fashion magazines such as Vogue.  At the age of fifteen she became the youngest model to over be on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.  Between the years of 1980 and 1985, she appeared on more than 300 magazine covers internationally.
She continued her education at New Lincoln School and then graduated from The Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, New Jersey in 1983.  She was also the model for Calvin Klein jeans.
There was a lot of controversy around her acting and modeling.  At the age of ten a nude photograph as taken of her and put up in a art gallery but later was removed.  Also, in her first film there was a lot of nudity and adult content causing a big uproar.
As her career progressed she continued to get work in such films as, "Wanda Nevada" (1979) and "Endless Love" (1981).  Along with working as an actress she also managed to earn a French Literature degree from Princeton University and is even a published author for the book, "Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression".
She has also received a number of honors and awards throughout her career such as, The People's Choice Award between 1981 and 1984 as favorite Young Performer as well as the people's choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New Television Series in 1997 for her role on the sitcom, "Suddenly Susan" (1996).  People's Magazine has also chosen her as "One of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 1996 and 2000.  They also chose her as one of the most intriguing people of the year in 1978, 1980 and 1996.
Brooke starred in the Lifetime movie, "What Makes a Family" (2001) and has also made numerous television appearances on such series as, "That 70's Show", "Nip/Tuck", "Two and a Half Men", "Entourage", "Lipstick Jungle" and "The Middle".
Along with her modeling career, film and television career, she has also appeared on stage in a variety of Broadway Productions such as, "Grease", "Wonderful Town", "Cabaret", "Chicago" and "The Addams Family".
Brooke Shields has been married twice throughout her lifetime.  Her first husband was famous tennis player, Andre Agassi but this only lasted less then 2 years before the marriage was annulled.  She then married Chris Henchy in 2001 and they have two children and remain married today.
She continues to work as an actress and resides in New York.
