BRIGITTE BARDOT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Brigitte Bardot was born on September 28th, 1934 in Paris, France. Her father, Louis, worked in the family business as an engineer. As a young girl, Bardot was encouraged by her mother, Anne-Marie to get involved in singing and dancing lessons and by the age of fifteen, Bardot was trying to get involved working as a model.
Her first big gig was working as a model for, “Elle” magazine and next decided to see if she had any chance to work as a film actress. Her film debut was in 1952 in the film, “Crazy For Love” followed by two more film roles. She was doing so well in France films that next she relocated to the United States to see if she could be involved in films in the US.
Her first film in the United States was in, “Act of Love” (1953) and she continued to work in the film industry in France as well. She had such a beauty and sexual appearance that millions of Americans were taken by surprise with her look. She continued to make films and she drew a large fan base, mostly male viewers.
She then worked on a film playing herself in, “Dear Brigitte” (1965), however she only appeared in one scene. In 1973 she did another film, “The Edifying and Joyous Story of Colinot” (1973), which turned out to be her final film role.
By the times she was forty years old, she retired from the industry and focused her efforts elsewhere. She was very involved with animal rights and became a spokesperson for the organization and also founded the, “Foundation Brigitte Bardot” which was dedicated to protecting animal rights.
She married a total of 4 times, first to Roger Vadim in 1952 through 1957. Her second marriage was to Janques Charrier from 1959 through 1962 and together they had one child, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. Marriage number three was to Gunter Sachs in 1966 through 1969 Her fourth and final marriage to date is to Bernard d’Ormale on August 16th, 1992 and they remain married today.
Brigitte Bardot was chosen as Empire magazine’s 100 Sexiest Stars in film history and was also ranked #49 by the same magazine as, “The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time”. She also recorded a number of popular songs during the 60’s and 70’s such as, "Harley Davidson", "Je Me Donne A Qui Me Plait", "Bubble Gum", "Contact", "Je Reviendrais Toujours Vers Toi", "L'Appareil A Sous", "La Madrague", "Le Soleil De Ma Vie", "On Demenage", "Sidonie", "Tu Veux, Tu Veux Pas".
In 1983, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and at first refused treatment but later was able to fight the disease and is now a breast cancer survivor.
