BILL PAXTON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Bill Paxton was born on May 17th, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas with the birth name William Archibald Paxton, born to Mary Lou and John Lane Paxton. He received his early years education at St. Anne's Catholic School and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. Paxton then enrolled at Southwest Texas State University.
At the age of eighteen, he relocated to Los Angeles, California and began working in the film industry first as a set dresser for New World Pictures. By 1975, he had broken into the film world as an actor first appearing on, "Crazy Mama". Paxton then moved to New York and enrolled at New York University where he studied acting.
In 1981 he was cast in, "Stripes" and his career began to take off with more substantial roles in film as well as television. Some of his more memorable film roles have been in, "The Terminator" (1984) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton, "Weird Science" (1985), "Aliens" (1986), "Near Dark" (1987), "Next of Kin" (1989), "Navy Seals" and his big break in the 1992 film, "One False Move".
Soon, Paxton was being cast in strong supporting roles in such films as, "Tombstone" (1993) starring with Kurt Russell and Sam Elliott, "Apollo 13" (1995) starring with Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon, "True Lies" (1994), "Titanic" (1997) starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, "U-571" (2000) starring Matthew McConaughey, Harvey Keitel, Thomas Kretschmann, Jon Bon Jovi, Jack Noseworthy, Will Estes and Tom Guiry and "Vertical Limit" (2000). In addition to his many film roles he has also appeared on such television series as, "Miami Vice", "The Hitchhiker", "Tales from the Crypt" and one of his more well known roles on the series, "Big Love" (2006-2011) portraying, Bill Henrickson.
In addition to working as an actor he has also been given the chance to work on the other side of the industry as a director as well as a producer for such films as, "Fish Heads" (1980), "Frailty" (2001), "The Greatest Game Ever Played" (2005) and the short, "Tattoo" (2011).
Most recently, Paxton has appeared on the hit television mini series, "Hatfields & McCoys" (2012) and soon to release in 2013, "To Appomattox".
Bill Paxton is currently married to his second wife, Louise Newbury whom he wed in 1987 and together they have two children. Prior to this marriage, he wed Kelly Rowan in 1979 and they were married till 1980.
