BEN COOPER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Ben Cooper was born on September 30th, 1933 in Hartford, Connecticut. From a young age he became involved in the entertainment industry working on both the stage as well as radio. After completing high school he enrolled at Columbia University and after earning a college degree he chose to pursue a full time career in acting.
Some of his early career roles were on the television series, "Suspense" (1950), "Fireside Theater" (1951) and "The Armstrong Circle Theatre" (1952-1953) and then he began working the film industry appearing on the big screen in such films as, "Thunderbirds" (1952), "Women They Almost Lynched" (1953), "Flight Nurse" (1953), "Sea of Lost Ships" (1954) and "The Outcast" (1954).
Majority of roles he played throughout his career were action characters of either the hero or the villain. He appeared in a number of westerns and in 2005 was awarded a Golden Boot award for all his work on westerns.
Some television western film credits he added to his resume were roles in, "Tales of Wells Fargo", "Wagon Train", "Johnny Ringo", "Zane Grey", "The Westerner", "The Rifleman", "Laramie", "Gunsmoke", "Rawhide" and "Death Valley Days".
As his career progressed he continued to work on western television shows but also turned his focus to drama. He was seen on episodes of, "American Civil War", "The Twilight Zone", "Kraft Suspense Theatre", "Perry Mason", "The Time Tunnel", "Mannix" and "Marcus Welby, M.D".
His career mostly focused on television with only four film roles in the latter part of his career in, "One More Train to Rob" (1971), "Support Your Local Gunfighter" (1971), "The Sky's The Limit" (1974) and "Lighting Jack" (1994).
Some of his most recent television roles have been on, "Dallas" (1985), "L.A. Law" (1986), "Knotts Landing" (1986) and his last known role was in 1995 on the television series, "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues".
He married his one and only wife in 1960, Pamela Raymond and they have two children and remain married today. They currently reside in Los Angeles, California.
