ARLENE DAHL BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Arlene Dahl was born on August 11th, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, born to Idelle and Rudolph S. Dahl. After graduating from Washburn High School, Dahl joined a local theater group and also found work as a model for a number of department stores. She studied for a short time at the University of Minnesota before deciding she wanted to pursue a career in entertainment.
She relocated to Hollywood in the mid 40's and in 1946 was signed to a contract with Warner Brothers. Her exquisite beauty helped her break into the industry and she used it to her advantage over the course of her career.
Some of her more well know film credits include, "Life With Father" (1947) starring William Powell, Irene Dunne, Elizabeth Taylor, Martin Milner, Edmund Gwenn, Zasu Pitts and James Lydon, "The Bride Goes Wild" (1948) starring Van Johnson, June Allyson, Hume Cronyn and Una Merkel, "Reign of Terror" (1949) starring alongside Robert Cummings, Richard Basehart, Charles McGraw, Beulah Bondi and Richard Hart, "Three Little Words" (1950) starring with Fred Astaire, Red Skelton, Vera Ellen and Debbie Reynolds, "Woman's World" (1954) also starring Clifton Webb, Lauren Bacall, Van Heflin, Fred MacMurray, June Allyson and Cornel Wilde, "Slightly Scarlet" (1956) co-starring John Payne, Rhonda Fleming, Kent Taylor and Ted de Corsia, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (1959) starring with Pat Boone, James Mason, Peter Ronson, Diane Baker, Thayer David and Alan Napier, "Night of the Warrior" (1991) starring Robin Antin and Michael Ballew and her final film appearance was in, "Air America" (1999) starring her real life son Lorenzo Lamas, Scott Plank, Diane Barton and Arthur Roberts.
During the 1950's Arlene Dahl appeared on the TV panel game show "What's My Line" hosted by John Daly andin the 60's starred in Burke's Law with Gene Barry. In addition to her career as an actress, Dahl also pursued a career as a beauty columnist and writer. She also later founded Arlene Dahl Enterprises which marketed such products as lingerie and cosmetics.
Arlene Dahl has married a total of six times. Her first husband was Lex Barker whom she wed in 1951 however by 1952 this marriage came to an end. She then married actor Fernando Lamas in 1954 and they had one child, actor Lorenzo Lamas, before divorcing in 1960. Her third husband was Chris Holmes from 1960 through 1964 and produced another child. Her fourth time to wed was in 1964 to Alexis Lichine but again by 1969 another marriage ended. She chose to wed for a fifth time to Rounsevelle W. Schaum in 1969 and after having her third child with him they divorced in 1976. Currently she is married to her sixth husband, Marc Rosen since 1984.
