ANTHONY ZERBE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Anthony Zerbe was born on May 20th, 1936 in Long Beach, California with the birth name Anthony Jared Zerbe.  After graduating from Newport Harbor High School he earned his college degree in 1958 from Pomona College and then joined the United States Air Force and then when he was discharged, he decided to relocate to New York and studied drama with acting coach, Stella Adler.
 
After gaining some experience in the industry he finally was cast in his film debut in, "Will Penny" (1968) starring Charlton Heston and Lee Majors and soon more prominent film roles followed such as, "The Molly Maguires" (1970), "The Omega Man" (1971), "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" (1972) starring Paul Newman, "Papillon" (1973) starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman and "Rooster Cogburn" (1975) starring John Wayne and Katherine Hepburn.
 
Along with his film experience, Zerbe also appeared on a number of television series and movies such as, "Harry O" (1973), "The Rockford Files" (1978), "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" (1978), "Highway to Heaven" (1985), "Dynasty" (1986) and "Frasier" (2000).
 
He also continued to work on Broadway throughout his film and television career and was seen in such productions as, "The Little Foxes", "Terra Nova" and "Solomon's Child".  He also toured in 2003 with Roscoe Lee Browne in the stage production of, "Behind The Broken Words"
 
Other more recent film roles have been on, "License to Kill" (1989), "The Matrix Reloaded" (2003), "The Matrix Revolutions" (2003), "Judging Amy" (2004) and his last appearance was in 2007 in, "Veritas, Prince of Truth".   
 
Anthony Zerbe has been married only once to Arnette Jens whom he wed on October 7th, 1962 and they remain married today.  He continues to make occasional stage appearances.
