ALEC BALDWIN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Alec Baldwin was born on April 3rd, 1958 in Massapequa in Long Island, New York with the birth name Alexander Rae Baldwin III to parents, Carolyn Newcomb and Alexander Baldwin jr. He has three younger brothers and two sisters. All four boys went on to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, however, Alec became the most successful.
He attended Alfred G. Berner High School where he was very involved in playing football and after high school he went to George Washington University and then decided to transfer to New York University to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Alec first began his career in entertainment working as a stage actor making his Broadway debut in a production of, "Loot" (1988) followed by roles in such stage productions as, "Serious Money", "A Streetcar Named Desire" and later in his career he performed in the stage production of, "Macbeth" (1998).
Soon he began working on television shows beginning with the soap opera, "The Doctors" (1980-1982). It did not take long for more television series roles to come his way such as, "Knot's Landing" (1984-1986). He also did the voice over work for the children's television series, "Thomas and Friends" for all fifty two episodes.
As his career progressed he made appearances on such television series as, "Friends", "Will & Grace", "Nip/Tuck" and "30 Rock" for which he received two Emmy's, two Golden Globes and five Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Along with a successful career as a television actor, Baldwin has also appeared in a number of films such as, "Forever, Lulu" (1987), "Beetlejuice" (1988), 'Working Girl" (1988), "The Hunt for Red October" (1990), "The Marrying Man" (1991), "The Getaway" (1994), "Glengarry Glen Ross" (1992), "Prelude to a Kiss" (1992) and "The Shadow" (1994).
Alec Baldwin has also co hosted the 82nd Academy Awards with Steve Martin and has hosted Saturday Night Live sixteen times total. After working on a couple more films, mainly thrillers he decided to try working on some films as a character actor.
He starred in, "Pearl Harbor" (2001) and "The Cooler" (2003) for which he was once again honored with an Academy Award, Golden globe and Screen Actors nomination. His career did not slow down either, as he continued to appear on the big screen in such feature films as, "The Aviator" (2004), "The Departed" (2006) and Mini's First Time" (2006).
Some of his latest film appearances have been on, "Suburban Girl" (2007), "It's Complicated' (2009) and soon to release in 2012, "Lucky Them".
Besides his voice over work narrating the, "Thomas and Friends" children's television series, Baldwin's voice has been used on a number of other projects such as, "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", "The Spongbob Squarepants Movie" and "The Royal Tenebaums".
Baldwin has married only once to actress, Kim Bassinger whom he wed in 1993 and they had one child before divorcing in 2002. He has received a number of compliments throughout his career such as being chosen by People's magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Even though divorced from Bassinger, it was her who convinced him to become a vegetarian which he continues to honor today and is a huge advocate for animal rights.
